Still time to comment on Dunoon CHORD project
Don’t worry if you missed the drop-in event on the Dunoon CHORD plans, there’s still time to speak up.
Around 180 of you attended the session in the Queens Hall on Wednesday, January 25, where members of the CHORD team were on hand to answer questions and respond to comments.
There was also an opportunity to look at plans for the Queens Hall, transport and streets improvements and find out more on the Dunoon Pier strategy.
However, the council would like to get as much feedback as possible, so if you didn’t get a chance to come along to the event there’s still time to look at the plans and give them your comments.
Handouts have been left at the Queens Hall reception and you can visit the Dunoon CHORD pages by clicking here.
Chairman of the Dunoon CHORD project board, Councillor Bruce Marshall, thanked all the members of the community who attended the drop-in event.
He said: “The CHORD project will have a major effect on Dunoon, both in terms of visual impact and economic regeneration.
“It is therefore vitally important that we get as many views as possible.
“The Dunoon CHORD project is a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a real difference to the town.
“We have exciting plans for the waterfront area with the Queen’s Hall playing a pivotal role.
“The project board will be considering the business case for the preferred scheme within the next week and working with the design team to progress through the next stages of consultation, planning and design.
“I would like to thank the public for their interest in the project and the feedback which is crucial to the refinement of the proposals and encourage everyone to visit the council website for future updates and events.”
