Emergency unit for Dunoon residents without power after storms
An emergency unit offering hot food to those still without power is available in Hamilton Street.
Power company SHEPD is providing the mobile catering van, after severe storms this week left around 9,000 homes across Argyll and Bute without electricity.
Meanwhile, engineers are making good progress repairing the significant faults on the electricity network in the area, with 150 engineers working in the Dunoon and Bute area alone.
A spokesperson for SHEPD said that the company “continues to actively call hundreds of customers who are without power, particularly vulnerable customers and those who have been without power for some time.”
Please note that the bin collections, which were postponed on Tuesday, January 3, will be collected on the next scheduled date - next Tuesday.
Any extra bagged rubbish left beside your wheelie bin will be uplifted with the Tuesday collection.
