Blood transfusion service thanks dedicated Dunoon donors
The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) has commended the people of Dunoon for making the effort to give blood.
Last week, s1dunoon reported that a blood transfusion service station would be in the Queen’s Hall – but the SNBTS didn’t expect more than 300 people to turn up.
Thanking the local community, a spokesperson for the SNBTS said: “We were delighted by the response we received at the Queens Hall in Dunoon on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 January.
“A total of 333 donors came along to give blood, with 53 donating for the first time.
“Many thanks to each and every one of you!
“A special thanks to the 27 first time donors from Dunoon Grammar.
“By joining the 5% of the population who give blood, you help us to ensure that we are able to continue to meet the needs of patients in Scotland.
“Your support is greatly appreciated and we look forward to seeing you all again when we return in June.”
If you missed the blood station, don’t worry, you can still give blood.
