Start your own page on s1dunoon
One of the best things about s1dunoon.com is that you can create your very own page for your group, society, club or business.
A page just like this one, in fact.
It's a great way to keep the public and your members informed.
All you need to do is write a little bit about your organisation and put it into our text editor - which you can open by clicking the "add" button at the top right of this page.
You can add simple formatting by using the basic controls on the text editor - which is the approach we recommend - or if you're feeling a bit more adventurous, you can also use fancy fonts and other advanced features in word processors such as Word, then paste in the results. (Although we'd warn you that complicated formats drawn up in a word processor might not look as good as you think online).
You can also add pictures - for instance team photos (like we've done here), or a logo.
You can also add a link to your club or society's website - but we do ask that you provide a link back to s1dunoon.com. It's good for everyone, since your site could attract visitors who wouldn't normally go directly there, and it helps both sites with search engine ranking. If you're a business, we absolutely insist on it.
The best bit is that you can come back and edit your page any time you like, so the information need never go out of date.
Here are a few tips:
Keep it simple. Basic formatting usually looks cleaner and better.
Don't use the tab key for formatting. If you need columns or a table, we recommend drawing a table in Word or similar and pasting it in.
To link to s1dunoon.com from your own site, past this code into your website:
<a href="http://www.s1dunoon.com" title="s1dunoon.com - your site for Dunoon news, views, events and photos."> <img src="http://www.s1dunoon.com/images/strap_logo_173.gif" height="25" width="134" alt="s1dunoon.com - your site for Dunoon news, views, events and photos." /> </a>
To link to your own site from s1dunoon.com, the easiest way is just to type (not paste) your site's web address into the text editor. You can also use the text editor's linking tools (the icons which look like little bits of chain) for more advanced options.
You can't upload .doc or .pdf files. These files don't work well on the internet. It's best to enter text via the text editor and upload pictures as .jpg files.
Come back and edit often. A page which changes regularly will attract people's attention and keep their interest.
Lastly, why not have a look at a group page on one of our other sites to see what you can do?
